With Season 1 now live in Apex Legends , it's time to go over every single detail it has to offer so you don't miss any secrets. Let's see what's new with the arrival of Octane and the purchase of the new Battle Pass.
What abilities does Octane offer?

The new Legend of Apex Legends is a very peculiar character who is capable of moving at full speed at the cost of his health. In addition, he has an energy regenerate that will keep him alive to counter the price to pay for his speed, making him even more powerful. But let's see his abilities in detail:
- Tactical ability: Octane is able to move 30% faster for 6 seconds. This speed increase consumes health, so you must take into account the percentage of life you have at the time of activation.
- Passive ability: One of Octane's great advantages is that he has a backpack that automatically supplies him with health, so every time you activate the tactical ability (with its corresponding loss of life), you can then automatically recover it.
- Ultimate ability: But Octane also thinks about the team. Activating the ultimate ability, she will deploy a jump platform that will allow her teammates to catapult themselves high up for a new aerial display.
How can I get Octane and other legends?

You have two ways to get it, one quick and one more laborious. The difference? One is free and the other isn't. On the one hand, you can use 12.000 Legend Tokens to get the character, but to accumulate that many coins you'll have to play quite a bit to earn all those rewards. These Legend Tokens are earned each time you level up your character (not to be confused with the Season level). For each new level, you'll get 600 Legend Tokens. So, with a simple calculation, you need to reach 20 levels to get the tokens necessary to unlock a new legend.
Alternatively, you have the quick option: paying 750 Apex Coins will unlock Octane. However, this is a currency you'll have to pay for, as 1.000 Apex Coins cost €9,99. They can be purchased in the game's in-game store.
Can I get the battle pass for free?

Yes and no. Let us explain. Right now, the Battle Pass costs 950 Apex Coins (almost €9,99), and it's essentially an entry fee that grants you access to a series of bonuses. But be aware, it's just access to the items; to actually obtain them, you'll need to level up to unlock the badges and items.
In the game itself, you can see all the rewards that will unlock as you level up. Most are exclusive to players with the Battle Pass (red squares in the image above), although all even-numbered levels up to level 48 will grant free rewards to all players (white squares), regardless of whether they have the pass or not.
Get the Season 2 Battle Pass for free
The great thing about getting the Battle Pass is that if you reach level 100 in Season 1, you'll have earned a total of 1000 Apex Coins, awarded at every level ending in 7 and a few others. This means that at the start of the next season, if the Season 2 Battle Pass costs the same (which is likely), you'll be able to choose between unlocking the new Legend or getting the Season Pass for free, provided you reached the maximum level in the previous season.
That said, if you have a high level of play, you may only have to pay for the first battle pass to continue getting future ones for free. Of course, you can never opt for both, or one thing or the other.
