A few weeks ago, Nintendo unveiled its virtual reality offering for the Nintendo Switch . It was based on the popular Nintendo Labo cardboard kits , and while initial details suggested interactive experiences similar to those found in the kits, the truly interesting news has arrived with a couple of recent announcements.
Super Mario Odyssey y The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in VR
The announcement was none other than the update of two of the most important games in the current Nintendo Switch catalog. Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be updated to be compatible with a new virtual reality mode that will be activated within the game itself, and which we will be able to enjoy as long as we have the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04 VR Kit.

In the case of Zelda, it seems that the update will simply allow you to activate virtual reality mode to enjoy a perspective with depth of the fields and meadows of Hyrule; however, in the case of Super Mario Odyssey there will be more new features, as the game will introduce a new game mode of finding musical notes, coins, and instruments hidden throughout the maps of the Cap Kingdom , Seaside Kingdom , and Kitchen Kingdom.

When will Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW be playable in VR?
The updates for both games won't arrive until April 26th , so there are still a few weeks until both free updates are available for download and we can finally activate the new VR mode to use the Nintendo Switch virtual reality glasses.

Remember that the basic set of the VR Kit will be priced at 39,99 euros, and with it we can turn the Nintendo Switch into a virtual reality helmet that can be used with these two new updates. On the other hand, there will also be the possibility of acquiring the Expansion Set 1 and 2 at 19,99 euros each, or opt for the complete pack on the first purchase for 79,99 euros. In this case we will enjoy the virtual reality activities that Nintendo has prepared, although as we have previously indicated, the Basic Kit will be enough to enjoy Mario and Zelda in virtual reality. Of course, these Nintendo LAbo packs will not go on sale until April 12, so we will also have to wait a little longer to be able to get hold of the new cards.
