The king of drones continues to explore new worlds, and its latest innovation is neither more nor less than an electric mountain bike made up of a really interesting new range of components. We talk about Amflow, the new brand focused on eMTB that with the new Amflow PL inaugurates the range of electrical transmission products Avinox Drive System, which is capable of starting the bicycle with a lot of technology behind it.
DJI's bike
After taking to the skies around the world with its range of drones, DJI has presented Amflow, a brand that will create mountain bikes with electric propulsion supported by the Avinox Drive System. This transmission system is made up of a high torque motor that, weighing only 2,52 kilos, is capable of reaching 105 Nm.
This planetary engine will be accompanied by an intelligent system that will offer four thrust modes different (Auto, Eco, Trail and Tube), as well as a Boost mode that will give extra power when the situation requires it. The battery responsible for powering the motor may be 600 Wh or 800 Wh depending on the model, and everything will be controlled from a 2-inch OLED screen that is integrated into the upper area of the fork.
The smart bicycle
With so much technology it was impossible for this bicycle to remain with a simple electric drive. The included software makes use of all the included sensors to record the routes with GPS log, is capable of activating walking mode to receive a slight boost while dragging the bicycle, avoid reversing on slopes or offer anti-theft alarm and instant location. All data is synchronized with the official mobile phone application, and two wireless controllers placed on the handlebars will allow you to change speeds and modes while riding.
The chassis has been designed taking into account many details, to such an extent that it is Compatible with 29 and 27,5 inch wheels without altering the geometric center of gravity.
How much does it weigh?
There are several components that add up until we reach the total weight of the bicycle. On the one hand, the Amflow PL's carbon frame weighs 2,27 kilos, while the drive unit adds another 2,52 kilos. Depending on the battery included, they can add another 3,74 kilos or 2,87 kilos for the 800 Wh and 600 Wh batteries respectively.
These batteries charge up to 75% in 1 and a half hours with the help of the included GaN charger, promising a health of over 80% after 500 charge cycles.
How much does it cost?
This Amflow Pl Carbon will arrive in two different models, Amflow PL Carbon y Amflow PL Carbon Pro, the latter being the one that includes carbon rims and handlebars, as well as other better quality components. At the moment the manufacturer has not specified prices, and the only thing it has commented is that they will go on sale sometime in the last quarter of 2024.
