evercade has managed to bring back the magic of cartridges with several very original systems with which to play legendary games with physical format that many users miss so much. The cartridge catalog continues to grow at an incredible rate, and the brand continues to design new hardware with which to continue expanding its catalog. And be careful because we did not expect the last announcement: a miniature arcade in which we can connect the entire catalog of cartridges without problems.
The arcade with cartridges
This Evercade Alpha will arrive in two different versions, the Evercade Alpha Street Fighter and Evercade Alpha Mega Man. The first is obviously focused on Street Fighter games, including a collection of 6 games from the saga; while the Mega Man version will compile six Capcom classics.
Both models are technically identical, including an 8-inch screen (4:3 format), six pre-installed games (which will depend on the chosen model), WiFi, headphone jack, and arcade controller with optional Deluxe version with SANWA components.
The games that include the different versions are the following:
Street Fighter Edition
- Street Fighter II Champion Edition
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha – Warriors' Dreams
- Street fighter alpha 2
- Street fighter alpha 3
Mega Man Edition
- Mega Man - The Power Battle
- Mega Man 2 – The Power Fighters
- Carrier Air Wing
- Final Fight
- Knights Of The Round
- Strider
These mini bartops have Officially licensed by Capcom for the Street Fighter and Mega Man labels, so you will be buying an official, perfectly licensed product.
The machine arrives fully assembled, so you will only have to connect the power cable to the included USB-C port to start playing. In the upper area, an interchangeable canopy will allow you to give a touch of personalization to the furniture, being able to change the style with two other canopies included in the box and others sold separately.
A very popular concept
Evercade's strategy has worked very well. In an era where the physical format has become an object of desire and worship, releasing games in cartridge format was risky, but it has worked really well. We have confirmation in the more than 500 games that currently exist in many compilations, among which we will find classics from Atari Lynx, Intellivision, Commodore 64, and many legendary development companies such as Data East, Namco, Bitmap Brothers, Gaelco, Jaleco, Team17 , among other.
How much does it cost?
The normal model will be priced at 229,99 Euros as a promotional price for the first reservations, since later it will cost 249,99 Euros when it hits stores (nope we know how much for the Deluxe version).
