The FarmVille farm will disappear from Facebook on December 31

Farmville

It is one of the most played online games on Facebook for years. With 31 million likes on Facebook, FarmVille has managed to hook users of all ages with its addictive real-time strategy system. But the exploitation of the farm has come to an end.

Why is FarmVille closing?

The company in charge of bringing the game to life, Zynga, has announced that, after 11 years of country life, FarmVille will close its doors on Facebook, never to open again. The reason is behind Adobe, and that is that, being based on Flash Player, the game's days were numbered. Adobe already announced that it would stop distributing and updating its player for browsers, so this has forced Facebook to stop supporting games based on this format.

This obviously causes FarmVille to stop working on the social network, hence it will disappear immediately on December 31, 2020, at which time the changes will be applied. All in-app purchases and refund processes will stop working on November 17, so you have until then to claim or purchase your latest add-ons.

Farmville

One only has to go through the official FarmVille account on Facebook to see that the game is going to leave a tremendous void in countless users. One of the most prominent comments quotes the following:

I learned so many vegetables, trees, animal species, and various food recipes with FarmVille. It also helped me deal with my anxiety. The decorations are beautiful and make me dream of my future home. I will miss the farm too. Thank you very much for your company.

As you can see, the attachment of many users to the game is tremendous. But is it all over?

There is life beyond FarmVille

The fact that the original farm in the game closes its doors does not mean that you will no longer be able to visit it. At least in other locations. And it is that Zinga has another game called FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape, which you will be able to continue playing from Facebook without problems.

As if that were not enough, the company is already planning the launch of FarmVille 3, although in that case the game will be intended for mobile phones, which is currently where the largest number of audiences are focused. At the moment there is not much related information, but considering the disappearance of the original game, this new installment could have many similarities with which to attract the public that will be saddened by the closure of FarmVille on Facebook.
