One of the most well-known Fortnite dataminers has said goodbye. It seems his latest leak, containing details of Season 7 and the supposed return of Thanos to Fortnite, has angered Epic Games to an unprecedented degree. The situation is so serious that the game developer has sent several cease and desist letters to some of the most famous leakers on the internet, including, of course, FNBRLeaks.
Fortnite leaks have exhausted Epic's patience
In recent weeks the leaks have been growing quite rapidly. The latest updates helped this, since within these packages are hidden files related to future additions, as well as fixes and new features already announced. For example, the appearance of a new customization pack related to Samsung's Galaxy skin has been known, in which weapons and a vehicle decorated with the famous space theme could be seen.
It was previously revealed that the possibility of gifting skins and accessories to our friends could be done soon, in addition to the arrival of a sword, something that was confirmed with the Infinity Blade.
Cease and desist, the nice way of saying stop
Given the amount of information that has been leaked unofficially, Epic has decided to put an end to these practices by sending a cease and desist letter to all users known to extract and share this type of information online. As the letter states, this type of information " ruins the game for millions of people who play and/or watch Fortnite, and negatively impacts those who work hard to create and update Fortnite ."
This is the letter that FNBRLeaks (whose real name is Preston) received at his home address, a document that instructed him to remove all unauthorized content from Epic on any social media platform, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Discord, and GitHub, which he has obviously done. Otherwise, he risked legal action, something that Preston chose not to consider.
As a result of the situation, the FNBRLeaks profiles on Twitter, Instagram, Discord, YouTube, and GitHub where he had accounts have been voluntarily deleted, completely disappearing from the public eye and becoming entirely invisible (at least as far as we know) as of today. Preston said goodbye through a post on Twitlonger where, without going into details, he explained that he deleted all his social media profiles at Epic Games' request, thanking all the users who followed him during his seven months of work.
