Yesterday, a series of leaks related to the next GTA installment appeared on both Reddit and 4chan . According to a couple of users with access to exclusive information from people involved in the project, the legendary Rockstar game will bring a multitude of new features. First details of GTA VI
The details come via an employee associated with acting and recording jobs and a second person employed by Rockstar who, while not confirming anything, couldn't hold back a laugh when asked about certain aspects (to which he replied "! You know I can't tell you anything!").
- The game has been in development since 2012 (a year before GTA V went on sale, yes), although it has had several pauses due to the development of RDR2. Under the internal name of Project Americas, the game is being developed by all the studios of Rockstar.
- The game will take place in a Vice City set in Rio de Janeiro, although the story will have linear missions that will take us to Liberty City (New York) where the story will take a turn with overtones of crime noir reminiscent of series like Ozark y Breaking Bad..
- But the main plot, at least at the beginning, will remind the series The Wire, as the police try to break up a drug trafficking network that revolves around a nightclub.
- This plot will bring to life the four main characters which will feature GTA VI, two policemen and two gang members, although apparently only 1 of them will be the playable character. Taking into account that we are talking about one more main character than GTA V, the dialogues could be longer, so much so that supposedly GTA VI will have twice as many dialogues.
- The story will develop the growth of a drug empire, passing through places like Vice City and another undisclosed location in South America. We will have to establish relationships with drug traffickers to make our way and continue to grow the empire. It is said that there will be a large prison that will play a very important role in the game.
- The game will take place between años 70 y 80, and the buildings and vehicles will change as time goes by. These changes translate into more expensive cars based on age, details that have apparently been a headache when developing the system over time.
- This police mix and with themes related to the world of drugs make the story of GTA VI have great similarities with Narcos from Netflix.
- The way in which we will have to create our drug empire will use a mechanic similar to that of Vice city storiesbut on a giant scale. Something like GTAOnline multiplied.
- Our character will not be able to carry infinite weapons. It will be something similar (and believable) as it happens in RDR2. And by the way, the gameplay will mix arcade and realism, and it won't be as realistic as RDR2.
- As for the release date and platforms, the rumor ensures that GTA VI will be an exclusive game for the new generation of consoles (PS5 y Xbox Scarlett), so the current ones will be left without testing it. This is basically due to the fact that its launch is expected to take place at the beginning of 2021, although at the moment there is no clear date.
