A specialized modding team has managed to bring GTA V to the Nintendo Switch and execute it correctly. To achieve this, they have used part of the source code that was publicly leaked at the end of last year, and although the game works, the results, as you can see, are not what any fan of the saga expected.

The game has been receiving many updates and remastered versions in the last 10 years, so one more version on a console like Nintendo's would only be synonymous with success. The problem is that technically the console cannot handle the game, and although we had no proof, it seems that the work of the Superstar South modding group has cleared us of all kinds of doubts.

As you can see in the video they published on X, the performance of the version ported to Switch is extremely poor. Not only because of the graphic quality of the textures shown, but also because of the drop in frames that it constantly suffers, with a average less than 20 FPS and with a lot of jumps and interruptions in the animations.
This makes the game completely unplayable, a shame considering that it has managed to run. In any case, you should keep in mind that the group has decided not to share the details and, after the demonstration, has ended the project, rejecting any type of contact or request to share the development.

But hey, if you wanted to see GTA V running on a Nintendo Switch, that's just what you asked for. According to those in charge of the port, the captured video runs a little slower than what is actually seen on the console, and we must also take into account that was running in laptop mode, and not in overclocked desktop mode. In any case, it seems like something quite complicated for the Nintendo console.

Will we ever see GTA V on a Nintendo console?
Taking into account the large number of remasters and versions that have been released of GTA V, we would not be surprised if Rockstar dared with one more for the next Nintendo console, the Switch 2. In order to break all records, one more version for the new Nintendo console it could be the icing on the cake for the second best-selling game in history, only surpassed by Minecraft.
