One of the Xbox games that has arrived on PS5 is pentiment, and if you thought that sharing a game between platforms was going to calm the desire for war between both consoles, it only took a few days after the launch for the absurd comparisons to reappear, which, as always, have a simple explanation.
Pentiment at 120 FPS on PS5
It has been something that has caught attention immediately. PS5 players are being able play Pentiment with a frame rate of 120 frames per second, something quite typical for a game of its characteristics, but which immediately clashes with Xbox performance. And the Microsoft console, which was the model with which it was originally designed exclusively, moves the game at a speed of 60 images per second, which has generated rapid controversy among X users. .
How is it possible that a game that began as an exclusive for Xbox performs worse on said console and runs much better on PS5? Well, the answer is simpler than you might think, and no, it is not about any hidden conspiracy in the video game industry or any favorable treatment towards Sony. Everything is limited to a simple bug.
A bug that will be fixed
This has been confirmed by the game director, Josh Sawyer, clarifying that the 120 FPS game mode is not activated on Xbox due to a bug, and which will be fixed soon with a patch in the form of an update. In this way, Pentiment will run at the same speed on Xbox Series as it does on PS5, avoiding any type of performance difference between platforms, at least, until the next fanboy comes on the scene.
120fps will be enabled for XBOX in the next patch. It being disabled is just a bug.
