The latest rumors place the PS5 Pro launch for this same year, exactly in the last part of the year (possibly between October and November), but the most interesting thing is that they have shared all the technical specifications that the new powerful version of PS5 will offer. If a few days ago we knew the graphic capabilities, now the list of details talks about the CPU and the audio.
Squeezing the power of PS5
The PS5 Pro is almost a reality. The many rumors surrounding the new console do not stop, and it is most likely that sooner or later Sony will comment on the matter and issue an official statement announcing the console. It will be, as always happens with the Pro models, an improved version, optimized and prepared to cover those flaws that were left pending with the original version.
And despite the fact that PS5 offers enviable performance, with instant loading and fantastic 4K/60p gaming, there are still certain scenarios in which you cannot have everything and where you have to choose. Because, who has not encountered the uncertainty of having to choose between performance and fidelity modes in Spider-Man 2?
The idea of PS5 Pro may possibly be that, to finally be able to offer 4K/6p gaming with ray tracing and all kinds of effects without skimping on details or dispensing with luxuries.
A crazy brain
As shared in Insider-Gaming, the PS5 Pro CPU will be identical to the original model, however, it will offer a higher frequency to reach the 3,85 GHz, this being 10% more than the original model. In addition, at the audio level there will also be improvements, since the dedicated controller will run at higher speeds, having access to the ACM library with 35% greater performance.
To all this, we must add what we already knew about the GPU, which will run 45% faster offering performance 2 and 3 times (and even four times) higher than the original PS5. This translates into a total performance of 33,5 teraflops, where PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology will be key to achieving 8K resolution.
By the end of the year
Expected to launch at the end of the year, the console will offer a similar design to the latest model with a removable disc drive. Furthermore, at the internal memory level will continue to offer 1TB with the idea of keeping the price in a moderate range and not detaching itself too much from the rest of the versions.
With the launch of this new PS5 Pro, the arrival of SDK 10.00 is also expected, with which new improvements will be included in order to take advantage of the performance of the new version. And developers will have to release patches for their games to take advantage of the new performance, as happened with the PS4 Pro in its day.
