Ruined King, the new RPG based on League of Legends is coming

Riot Games has long announced its intention to expand the League of Legends universe by releasing new games. Some of these we have already seen and the next one, Ruined King already has a release date more or less established. So get ready for a whole new way to play LoL champions.

Get ready for a new adventure in 2021

Months ago Riot Games showed a small preview of everything that is to come. The company prepares from a card game to other types of proposals different from the MOBA genre, but all keeping something in common: stories based on the League of Legends universe.

Now we have some more information about the next game that will arrive, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. This will be a League of Legends spin-off and is designed for a single player. A proposal that can be really interesting for all those who are attracted to the stories and characters of LoL, but not the type of mechanics that the original game proposes.

The first and most interesting thing is that, without having a specified day (something that we already know is very risky to do nowadays) the game will be out in early 2021. That means that it won't be long before anyone can enjoy this spin-off that will reach practically all current gaming platforms. There will be a version for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S will arrive later, which can be accessed for free if you upgrade from PS4 and Xbox One.

For the rest, the other new details about Ruined King is that it will be a turn-based role-playing game for a single player. This will be set in the Bilgewater and Shadow Isles regions, both regions of Runeterra. Although for some the most important thing will be to know which champions they can use as playable characters. Well, if there are no last minute changes, these will be: Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri and Pyke.

Now we just need to see real images of the game. Something that has not yet happened, but of which it is already said that could share items with Battle Chaser Nightwar. This title has been developed by the same study that is in charge of Ruined King. In addition, many similarities could be found between the two. Luckily in December we will leave doubts, because the company says that it will be then when we know more data.

Riot Forge and everything that is to come

With this news from Ruined King Riot Games confirms that their strategy with Riot Forge is working as expected. And it is that the company created this new seal with the intention of expanding the universe of League of Legends through games that other studies would develop.

Thus, during the past months, we have already seen other proposals such as the Legends of Runeterra card game or the recently seen League of Legends: Wild Rift which will be released for Android and iOS mobile devices and of which we already know that its open beta has begun and will gradually expand. Of course, what many may want to see is the animated series that is also being prepared.

Therefore, if you are a fan of LoL, get ready for everything that is to come. And if you want to kill time until these new games arrive, here is a good selection of free games for console and pc.
