Nintendo remains completely silent when it comes to its next-generation console, but that doesn't stop the rumors from continuing to simmer. In recent weeks, certain information has been appearing that continues to outline the new console, and everything indicates that the manufacturer could make a public statement on the matter very soon. But what exactly do we know about the Switch 2?
Same idea, but with magnets
Nintendo's idea is to continue with the same format. That is, a portable console with a connection base to convert it into a desktop. This will lead us to have attachable controls again, the Joy-Cons, and it seems that this time the grip system will be more sophisticated, since we will have the presence of magnets.
This is stated in Vandal, where they have received information about the project. According to the publication, The new controls would stick to the body of the screen with the help of magnets, which would completely close any type of compatibility with previous Joy-Cons (at least directly without adapters). That is, if you have a nice collection of Joy-Cons, these will only be able to be used with the current console, since the new one will have a completely different system.
Samsung in charge of the brain
Another piece of information being handled is that apparently Samsung has managed to secure important supply and manufacturing contracts, leaving other Chinese companies that had previously worked with Nintendo out of the equation. People say that Samsung will be in charge of manufacturing the console's SoC, based on a NVIDIA Tegra T239 and built from 7LPH processes.
This new processor would have as its main feature the incorporation of a decompression engine that would allow files to be loaded very quickly like the PS5 does, so thanks to technologies like this, performances like that of the rumored demos could be achieved. Zelda in 4K at 60 FPS.
An imminent announcement
Something especially interesting is that the latest rumors claim that Nintendo plans to announce its new console next June, which could fit with dates similar to the already announced E3. This would mean that at the beginning of that month Nintendo could convene the press and fans with a Nintendo Direct, so we will be very attentive to see if something is cooked up around those days.
Product
But the most important thing is missing. When will the Nintendo Switch 2 go on sale? The date that is still being handled points to spring of the 2025, but it's still too early to be sure. With the supposed announcement of the console in June, this date could be quite feasible, however, we still have to be cautious.
Nintendo's intervention will be definitive, and taking into account how long it is taking them to launch a new console (it's time), it is very likely that in a matter of a few weeks we will know something about it.
