Nintendo Switch 2 is on everyone's lips thanks to rumours that have gained strength in recent days. According to various sources, the long-awaited console will be officially presented this Thursday, January 16, at an event that promises to focus on its hardware. Gamers have been speculating for weeks about the successor to the popular Switch, and everything indicates that the wait is about to end.
The well-known podcast Nate the Hate, along with renowned media such as VGC y The Verge, agree that Nintendo will finally show the world the new console. According to the leaks, it will be a presentation divided into two stages: an initial this January 16 focused exclusively on the design and technical specifications of the device, and a second one, at the end of February or beginning of March, dedicated to the games that will make up its initial catalogue.
What can we expect from the announcement?
It has been noted that Thursday's event will be based primarily on a trailer highlighting the device's design and technical features. Although some gameplay may appear on screen during the video, it has been confirmed that Software will not be the focus in this first phase.
This strategy is reminiscent of the one Nintendo used with the first Switch in 2016: an initial hardware announcement followed, months later, by a broader event dedicated to software and other features. In the case of Nintendo Switch 2, the approach seems more condensed in time, with key dates in January and February.
