The Nintendo Switch 2 continues to be the subject of countless rumors and leaks, Now, the new console is being highlighted by the appearance of accessories designed for this console before its official launch. A series of screen protectors and carrying cases have begun to circulate on platforms such as Alibaba, revealing possible characteristics of the device that still remains a mystery.
These leaks have caught the attention of the gaming community, especially because of what suggest on the size and design of the console. According to the images and descriptions, the screen protector is visibly larger than the one on the standard Switch, but, to the surprise of many, it lacks a setting for the infrared sensor, which could indicate that this technology would no longer be present in the new model. In addition, the leaked cases show dimensions of 290 x 135 x 45 mm, compared to the 242 x 102 x 13.9 mm from the Switch OLED, suggesting a considerable increase in hardware size.

The products have appeared on the Alibaba platform, a wholesale trading site known for offering products long before official releases. Carrying cases indicate that the console will be bulkier, possibly with a 8 inch, which would represent an increase compared to the screen of 7 inches of the OLED model. Additionally, it is speculated that the Joy-Con could also have increased in size to fit the new design.
Screen protectors and cases seem to match a design that prioritizes a more immersive experience, but it also raises the question of how this will affect portability, one of the most notable features of the current Switch. Although the leaked images and specifications seem well-founded, Nintendo has not officially confirmed or denied any of this information, which adds to some skepticism among fans.
When will the Nintendo Switch 2 finally arrive?
According to statements by Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, the console will be revealed before March 31, 2025. However, rumors suggest that the announcement could come much sooner, with an estimated launch for the second half of 2025 (most likely mid-June) and a price that would be around 400 and 500 euros. In recent weeks, details have also been leaked about the Switch 2's Joy-Con, including alleged design changes and additional buttons, which reinforces the idea that the official announcement is getting closer.
On the other hand, there is also talk about the possible internal hardware of the console, which could include a NVIDIA Tegra T239 chip, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM or with a 256GB storage. These specs would indicate a noticeable jump in performance, offering more robust support for graphics-intensive gaming and possibly 4K resolution in the dock.
