The new chip to hack the Nintendo Switch is now ready

Unlock Switch

A new protagonist has appeared on the scene Nintendo Switch. This is Unlock Switch, a chip mod that allows you to run copies of Nintendo Switch games on the console in the same way that the well-known one already did. MIG Switch, with the exception that the new proposal allows more things to be done. The most interesting? Which is cheaper and easier to use.

A controversial launch

Unlock Switch

When Unlock Switch announced the development of its product with the first demos, the people at MIG Switch quickly spoke out, denouncing that it was a simple clone of their product and that they were scammers. The Unlock Switch team assured that the alleged website and the clones shown were the work of MIG Switch, which was trying to sabotage the launch with false information and all kinds of accusations.

Since Unlock Switch they continued to do their thing, and now, after several months of development and testing, it seems that They already have their product ready. The cartridge is open source, and arrives unprogrammed and without proprietary code for obvious reasons (Nintendo would make the product disappear in a matter of minutes). This forces the user to flash the memory to be able to use the functions that everyone looks for in the flashcard, but it is not a complicated process. For now, yes, the programming software only works on Windows for now.

The card, unlike MIG Switch, includes a button with which to change games (which can be tightened without having to remove the console protection cover) and, in addition, also will integrate WiFi connection so that we can very presumably connect wirelessly to be able to transfer games and tools without having to remove the cartridge from the console.

How much does it cost?

The creators have confirmed that the price of the Unlock Switch with the programmer will be $29,99, which means that it will cost half of the MIG Switch, a significant drop compared to the price it can currently be found on the market (which is about $59).

The so-called Xtractor will also be sold, a reader for original Switch cartridges that will allow backup copies to microSD cards. The price of this reader will be $34,90, although it will also be sold in a pack format along with the cartridge for $59,90.

Release date

Regarding the release date, Unlock Switch will not be launched until the company receives the OK from the beta testers, who have been testing the cartridge for the last few weeks with quite favorable results. The idea is that the cartridge will begin to be marketed on August 1th, XNUMX, and everything indicates that it will finally be like this.
