There are so many robot vacuums on the market right now that it's hard to choose one. They all seem to be very similar and sometimes the prices are very even. That is why looking at the small details are what can make you find that perfect robot for your home. And that is exactly what we are going to do with the Roomba Combo j7 +, which we have been testing for several weeks to now tell you what we liked the most and what we liked the least about it. Take note.
The iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ is a great robot, that's for sure. The brand has been on the market for enough time to have polished its qualities quite a bit and today it is, without a doubt, a benchmark firm when it comes to talking about this type of home appliance. Proof of this is the Roomba Combo j7 +, proposal "smartest»for the incorporation of features that until now we had not seen in its catalogue.
The best of the Roomba Combo j7+
- Su design. It is possibly the most beautiful model that iRobot has launched to date (and one of the most attractive on the market). And all the credit goes to -although I never thought I'd say something like that- its self-emptying base. This one has very particular proportions, it is relatively compact and wider than it is tall, and with a grooved finish that gives it elegance and a different touch. It even incorporates a cute leather flap that is used to open the lid and proceed to empty/change the bag - here you will also find a useful space to store your refill. Having a vacuum station at home is never aesthetic, but this design certainly helps to integrate much better at home.
- The system mop lift. It is its star point and iRobot has turned out very well the move. Possibly you are wondering if raising the mop is not something that other robots already did and the answer is Yes and no. It is true that other teams slightly raise their mopping pad when going over surfaces such as carpets (with the aim of not wetting them, although they do not always achieve it 100% effectively), but undoubtedly neither do it the way this Roomba does it. The equipment thus has a clearly differentiated area that descends to scrub thanks to some rods and it rises, withdrawing completely, at the moment of meeting a carpet to ensure that it does not even touch it. Seriously, you have to see it in action to see what fluid (mechanically speaking) which works, as well as fast, something I didn't expect at all. The idea is very well resolved.
- Su aplicación móvil. I have always really liked the iRobot app for its Attractive interface, its possibilities and how intuitive it is. It was not going to be an exception in this Roomba. The application is clear and clean, which is visually appreciated to handle it. You find everything easily and the programming is simple and fast. It has no loss and you will appreciate it.
- Su efficacy Cleaning. Let's not forget that we are talking about a vacuum cleaner, so it is acceptable to comment on what I thought of its cleaning performance. Even though he has a little big defect (which I just comment in the next section), the suction of this robot is effective, leaving the entire floor quite clean of dust. Pass the exam comfortably.
The worst of the Roomba Combo j7 +
- Does not have suction levels to customize. This is something that has really caught my attention and that kept me entertained for a long time, looking through the app's options and convinced that I was missing it somewhere. Typically, a robot vacuum cleaner has several levels, so you can choose the one you prefer at any given time depending on the level of dirt at home, but this is not the case here. there is only one level, which without being far from scarce -I have already commented in the previous section that it does its job well-, it feels insufficient when we want to either "slow down" the pace or, instead, put a cane in the device for a deeper cleaning . It is by far what I liked least about this proposal.
- The rods of the mop lifting system. Just as I have applauded the idea of raising the mop, the system or architecture itself sometimes gives me the feeling of fragility or distrust, in the sense that it makes me wonder how long it will last in perfect condition or if it will give me future problems of some kind. I know that it is going ahead in time, perhaps unjustifiably, but these mechanisms are usually the Achilles heel of many devices and experience tells me that this time the same thing could happen. What has been said is still a fear without evidence, but concern about it is inevitable.
- No mop cleaning system. After testing robotic vacuuming and scrubbing systems that do include it, I miss having at the base un system that cleans the mop automatically once the job is done. We already know that the mop past of these teams is always "light" (it does not replace a mop at all, do not forget), but that does not mean that it does not get dirty and therefore it is strange to have brushes that condition it to the next job.
