Video Doorbell Pro 2: this is Ring's doorbell with camera and 3D vision

Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2

Ring has announced the arrival of a new doorbell with an integrated camera that stands out for the incorporation of a 3D movement detection system that will allow you to control the distance and movement of people who pass through your door. It has also improved the image quality, so everything will look sharper and better.

A very smart peephole

Ring's new Video Doorbell Pro 2 has included new features to offer more secure, accurate and higher quality video surveillance. This model will be sold in two versions, one for wired mounting (to use the cables of your current electric doorbell) and another version with a power adapter that will allow you to always keep your doorbell powered if you have a nearby socket.

Both models are identical, and they only differ by whether or not they include the power adapter. Also keep in mind that the wired model requires a more complex installation, while the model with a power adapter only needs to plug the adapter into the socket to start working.

A radar against spies

Thanks to the incorporation of a radar sensor, this new Video Doorbell Pro 2 is capable of identifying the distance of the person or persons who are approaching your door. So you can determine exactly what distance you want to control in front of the door of your house.

This is further complemented by a new mode, Bird's Eye View, which will represent the movements of objects and people moving in front of your door on a satellite view, so you can clearly see where they moved and what they were doing. This is quite a useful view for cameras pointing outwards, but practically useless in interior areas.

Higher resolution

Another novelty that has been included is the ability to capture video at 1536 lines of resolution, a format that has increased vision coverage up to 150 degrees vertically, which will allow you to see the bottom of the camera, in the case that they leave you a package on the ground or a letter.

How much does it cost?

This new Doorbell model can be purchased through Amazon from March 31, although you can already book through the web with a launch price of 249 euros for both the wired version and the version with a power adapter.

You must remember that the video recording functions require a subscription to the Ring Protect service, so you will not be able to access previous recordings unless you sign up for the 30 euros a year plan (100 euros if you have more than one camera in home).
