Huawei Mate X6

The market for foldable mobile phones continues to slowly gain followers and Huawei does not intend to miss the opportunity to take advantage of it. In this sense, the firm already has its attractiveness in circulation Mate x6, a smartphone that stands out for its attractive design with a flexible screen without neglecting its good performance. We have been testing it for several days and this is what we can tell you about itIs it really worth investing in a mobile phone like this?

Design and construction: refinement in every fold

The Huawei Mate X6 is a clear evolution of the Mate X5, with certain improvements in its design and functionality. hairsalon premium It is reflected in finishes such as the vegan leather (very pleasant to the touch), which offers an elegant touch and also prevents fingerprints during use. When unfolded, it marks a thickness of only 4,6 mm, being one of the thinnest in its category, but when closed, it is also incredibly thin (9,85 mm), making it one of the most manageable and comfortable devices to store that I have had within the folding family.

Su improved hinge not only provides robustness, but almost completely eliminates the visible crease on the inner panel - although it is still noticeable, of course. Huawei assures that this hinge supports hundreds of thousands of folds, thereby guaranteeing durability in the long term and in terms of weight, 239 grams that marks on the scale position it as a fairly light device.

Screens: a pleasant visual experience

The Huawei Mate X6 features two high quality screens which stand out for their clarity and fluidity. The external screen of 6,45 inches, with OLED technology and refresh rate of 120 Hz, reaches an incredible maximum brightness of 2.500 nits, being ideal for outdoor use.

On the other hand, the internal screen offers 7,93 inches incredibly comfortable, perfect for multitasking, reading or multimedia consumption. I must admit that I am not particularly a fan of this type of format, but this Mate X6 has made me change my mind, thanks above all to the spaciousness that I get without sacrificing the portability of the device.

It is true that its maximum brightness of 1.800 nits is slightly lower than the external one, but it is still more than enough to enjoy in different light conditions. Both screens are protected with Kunlun Glass 2, which gives them greater resistance to scratches and impacts.

El fine edge design It also maximizes display space, and a fairly subtle fold helps achieve a good user experience in this regard.

Cameras: outstanding in a foldable

Huawei always does a good job at the photography level and with the Mate X6 it was not going to be an exception. Its camera system is led by a 50 MP main sensor with f/1.4 aperture, along with a 40 MP ultra-wide angle and a 48 MP telephoto lens. For selfies and video calls, we also have an 8 MP front camera.

Both the aforementioned main sensor like the telephoto lens They perform quite well, being one of the best features of this terminal. Foldables have often sinned by abandoning other qualities to put all the meat on the grill at the screen level, but in this Mate X6 the photographic quality is guaranteed with good daytime captures with a fantastic level of detail, a good night performance and a zoom (of 4 optical increases) very up to par. The wide angle is the one that gets the worst score on this occasion, but in general terms we can say that it is one of the best cameras we have seen in a foldable.

Performance: Good optimization despite limitations

Equipped with the processor Kirin 9020, the Huawei Mate X6 offers smooth and efficient performance. It is true that it is not the most powerful processor on the market, but it matches well with the 12 GB of RAM, ensuring a fast experience in multitasking and demanding applications. My biggest problem here? That it lacks 5G connectivity, a negative point considering its price and the current competition in the market.

With the custom EMUI 15 layer, based on Android 12, the phone moves with ease, handling multitasking that allows you to open several floating apps, split the screen and interact with each other intuitively. It's a pity that we once again find ourselves in the shadow of Google's capping, making it more complicated (although far from impossible, thanks to the integration of apps like Aurora Store, which has softened this limitation), use many of the apps we are used to.

Battery and charging: autonomy that meets

The Huawei Mate X6 incorporates a battery of 5.110 mAh, which offers a duration that could reach almost a day and a half with a moderate use as long as you don't abuse the internal screen, of course. When using it intensively, of course, the autonomy is reduced, but it is still acceptable for a foldable phone that can last a full day.

With regards to load, supports speeds of 66W per cable and wireless charging up to 50 WWith this, the device can reach 50% charge in just 16 minutes and a full charge in less than 45 minutes.

Huawei Mate X6

With a very attractive design (and above all, slim), good performance and cameras that stand out quite a bit, the Huawei Mate X6 enters the market as one of the most interesting models in its categoryIt is true that Google's limited services or the absence of 5G are there, but in general terms, it seems to me to be a fairly well-rounded smartphone that offers a very pleasant user experience for those who like to consume multimedia content on a large screen. This, of course, has to be paid for and not exactly with a few bills: The Huawei Mate X6 is priced at 1.999 euros, which still represents a fairly high investment and is only suitable for wealthy pockets eager to get their hands on foldable technology. It is up to you to decide whether it is worth it.
