Realme continues to expand its catalog and recently unveiled the realme 6s. A phone that is prepared to compete in one of the most complex price ranges, the entry range, and where the same manufacturer has other models such as the realme 6 itself that we have already tested. I have been testing it for a few weeks and today I show you the main keys that you need to know so that you know it in depth.
The keys to the new realme 6s
This is one of the new members of the realme 6 family. A range that, as we have already mentioned on other occasions, promises to become the company's new bestseller.
If you have already taken a look at the rest of the smartphones in the family, you will have noticed that, in the design section, they are practically identical. In the front we find a 6,5″ panel with screen hole, which hides its only front camera.

We are before a screen with FullHD + resolution which, even though it doesn't have a higher resolution like 2K or 4K, looks good and with correct color representation. And this is thanks to technology OSIE, which enhances the colors, contrast, and clarity of images played on this panel.

Moving on to another aspect of the design, the realme 6s integrates the fingerprint reader on the unlock button as the rest of the new realme 6 range does. A reader with which, after these weeks of using it, I have had zero problems and the unlocking is done quickly. As it happens with the facial recognition. It is not the most secure, but it works well in almost all situations.
The main difference that we will see between this phone and the rest of its brothers is in the back, where each one has a different finish. In this case, the realme 6s may be the most "simple" of the entire family, since it does not have any differential details like the "S" of the 6 PRO or the gradient of the realme 6 "just plain".

What does inherit this model are the two negative aspects with which the rest also counts: the hump of its camera module, which makes the phone move when resting it on any surface, and that the glossy finish is a magnet for fingerprints. Although both problems can be solved by putting a cover like the one included in the box when you buy it.
5 cameras for realme 6s

Moving on to the cameras section, this phone is still very similar to the rest of the family but with a small difference. The realme 6s has nothing less than 5 cameras on your body:
- An main lens 48 mp and f/1.8 (26 mm) focal length, unlike the 64 mp of the realme 6 or 6 PRO.
- Un wide angle 8 mp, f/2.3 focal length and a viewing aperture of 119º (15,7 mm).
- Un macro 2 mp and f/2.4 focal length, to bring them up to 4 centimeters closer to what we want to photograph.
- An portrait enhancement lens of 2 mp, which is a sensor that takes captures in black and white.
- Single frontal camera of 16 mp and focal length f/2 (26 mm), to make us selfies.
How are your results? Well, as you can imagine looking at the specifications, very similar to the other smartphones in this family.
When the light conditions are good, the result of all the lenses is correct, although sometimes I notice that the processing goes a bit too far. The macro may be the one that does not manage to leave us high-quality photographs, but it fulfills its function.

Where we will notice the difference in this realme 6s and the rest is when the light falls. Having a camera with less megapixels directly affects the pixel binning technology and, therefore, it is not capable of capturing as much light. It's not something dramatic in comparison but it is noticeable. Although, to solve this section a bit, you can use the night mode to improve the results.

realme 6s hardware
How is the experience using this phone? After these weeks of testing it, I can say that, on a day-to-day basis, everything works very well. Inside we have the same MediaTek MT6785 that in realme 6, together with 4 GB of RAM. Whether we ask it to perform at maximum power or use it for simpler tasks, the realme 6s performs well, without lag and with a constant feeling of fluidity.

This sensation is produced, in addition to its components of the processor and RAM, thanks to the fact that the screen has a 90Hz refresh rate. Something that many manufacturers are already including in their smartphones and that makes it difficult to get used to when we try to return to a "normal" screen.
This new member of the realme catalog has a battery of 4.300 mAh next to 30W fast charge. A charging system that allows us to "fill" your battery from 0% to 100% in about 1 hour. It is perhaps not the fastest charging on the market but, for my use, it seems to me that it is at an excellent level.

On the other hand, something that differentiates it from its older brothers is that this does not include the NFC chip. Is this a drama? No, but forget about using contactless payment systems or pairing with other teams using that chip.
Realme UI: a layer for lovers of customization
This realme 6s follows the line of the rest of the smartphones in its catalog in the software section. We find the manufacturer's customization layer, really UI, which runs over Android 10. There is little I can tell you about the software of this phone that I have not already told you.

The experience is very good, without lags or slowdown problems. If you are one of those who enjoys customizing and adapting the system to your liking, this is your layer, since it includes a good set of settings, menus, and options. But if you're looking for the pure Android look, you're not looking at the best option.
Realme 6s price and availability
Now that you know the keys to this smartphone, it's time to talk about the key detail that will make you, or not, opt for this model, the price. The realme 6s is available in a single model of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for a price of 199€. I really liked the phone and it works very well. Taking into account the price it has, it is a great option to consider.
At this point, you may be wondering which one should I buy, the realme 6s or the realme 6? In my opinion, knowing that the difference between the two is €20, that with the realme 6 you get a slightly better camera and the NFC chip, I would opt for the 6 “just dry”. Although, if you want to save that €20 and these small improvements are irrelevant to you, you can choose this model and invest the difference in other things.
