Amazon has given an image wash to the interface of one of its best-selling products and loved by users: the Fire TV. Now it has an improved aesthetic, more attractive, clear and easy to use. Today we want to make you one guided tour of this new interface so that you know it thoroughly and can get the most out of it.
New Amazon Fire TV interface in video
Equipment compatible with the new Amazon interface

As we already informed you a matter of months ago, Amazon was working on a renewed interface for these devices. This, in principle, would be dedicated to its latest releases such as the Fire TV Stick (2020) or the Fire TV Stick Lite. Now the catalog of compatible equipment, being able to update the following models:
- Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen)
- Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite
- Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
- Amazon Fire TV Cube
So far these are the devices of this family that can receive the update of this new interface. But, we have no doubt that little by little it will also reach the older models and, of course, all new releases.
All about the new Fire TV interface
We now move on to the true intent of this article. We want to give you a "guided tour" of this renewed view of Amazon's Fire TV, explain what's new and how you can get the most out of it.

The first thing you should know is that with this renewal the screen is divided into 3 different sections:
- Top panel: Featured content from series and movies that Amazon deems relevant to you will be displayed here. Above all, the content that is shown here will be news that arrives on the platform. Let's say it acts as an "ads" screen.
- Main menu: This is the one that is in the central part of the screen of our television. In turn, this is divided into different sections that give us quick access to the main features and content that we can see on Fire TV.
- Bottom panel: it is a dynamic screen that will change depending on the section in which we place ourselves in the main menu.
This, in a very general way, is the new aesthetic that Amazon brings to these devices connected to television. Now we are going to look carefully at each one of them and what it brings us when using them.
Create profiles on Fire TV

One of the most anticipated features for these devices is the profile creation for all home users. If you know what other systems like Android TV or Google TV offer, or even if you are a Netflix user, you will know that this functionality is tremendously useful.
What it allows us to do, as its name suggests, is to establish different profiles for the same computer and the same user account. Therefore, each of these will have your own recommendations depending on the series and movies you watch, and you can even install different apps without affecting other profiles.
To create these profiles We will only have to place ourselves on the user menu of the central bar (first icon on the left in the central bar) and, automatically, the lower panel will show us which ones have been created so far. If we want to add a new one, click on "Add profile" and follow the instructions.
Therefore, something tremendously useful that we can do with this functionality is to create a profile for the little ones from the house Then, within this user's settings, set parental controls to only display content that is age-appropriate.
A similar start menu
Right after the profiles section we will have the Start Menu which, once again, will be the one that appears every time we start the Fire TV. This has the same functionalities that it had in the previous version, adapting of course to the aesthetics of the new interface.
If we start to go down through it we will see different materials such as:
- Recommended movies and series.
- Recently used apps.
- Movies based on our tastes.
- Content that we are seeing and that, if we click on them, we will return to the point where we left off.
- Different types of series and movies grouped into categories.
Enhanced “Search” section in the new interface

The section that has been completely renovated, including very interesting news, is the menu of "Search". Now we will have at the click of a button different sections and categories to enhance the user experience. For example, we can only search for movies or series, locate content on a specific theme such as comedy or science fiction, or have a "normal" search engine like the one that was already in the previous version.
From here we will have access to the «appstore», that is, to the team's app store. Or even to the section of "Library" which is nothing more than the watch list of series and movies that we already knew.
Watch live TV from Fire TV

As we also told you in another article before the update, from our Amazon teams we can watch television from your section "Live". Here we will have access to the complete catalog of those channels that decide to reach an agreement with Amazon to show their content.
Placing ourselves on this menu of the central bar, the lower section will change giving us access to all this material. The first grid that we will be able to see will show us a emission guide content as a timeline. We will be able to advance through it in each channel that we have added and, in this very visual and simple way, know what we will be able to see in this channel throughout the day.
If you wish to add a new channel To this section, you just have to scroll to the next line of content that bears the name of “Featured Live TV Apps”. This is a shortcut to those apps from the Appstore. We will only have to install and open them for the first time so that they begin to show their content in the "Live" section.
New app quick access panel

Another novelty that we can see with the naked eye on our screen, just to the right in the central bar, is a strip dedicated to quickly access the applications that we use the most. A panel that we can adjust to our liking from the icon for access to the entire catalog of applications installed on our Amazon device, that is, the icon of the 3 squares with the "+".
If we scroll through all these applications, the lower section of the screen will change to show us all the content available in these apps. For example, if we have Prime Video or Netflix here, it will provide us with a quick overview of its content and, even, we will be able to continue watching those movies or series that we have already started.
These are them main new features of the Fire TV interface. But, as we already informed you in other posts, this will be a "live" article. This means that as Amazon implements new features in its interface, we will add them to the article so that you can be informed of any new details that are incorporated.
