The ads have been little by little reaching the on-demand content platforms without realizing it and, what but, with the intention to stay. At first it seemed that the daring of the service on duty to introduce them was something isolated that would not come to fruition, but unfortunately more and more companies offer plans in which the ads are included, in order to charge more to those who wish to remove them.
Amazon has not been left behind in this practice and surely you have already found yourself watching a series and surprised with several advertisements on your screen while you enjoyed it. Well, the platform offers a way to remove them, of course. We explain how and what its withdrawal entails.
Remove ads on Prime video step by step
If after coming across several ads in a row - up to three in one sitting! - while watching the new season of The Boys has exhausted your patience, you should know that there is a way to remove them from your profile settings.
Access is overwhelmingly easy both from the web and through your Smart TV. Of course, in both cases you are going to find the "surprise" that it is a payment of 1,99 euros monthly. Keep it in mind.
From web
These are the steps from your PC:
- Access Prime Video in your browser making sure you are logged in.
- In the top black options bar, look for "remove ads" -yes, we already told you it was very simple. You will access one of the Account and settings panels of your profile.
- In the third section, "No ads" appears in blue, warning you that this costs 1,99 euros per month.
- Tap the dark gray “Continue without ads” button.
- Choose "Start subscription» -in case you have purchase restrictions, you will have to enter your security PIN.
Once "subscribed" to this new modality, all associated profiles to your account will stop seeing ads when a streaming movie or series is played. You should keep in mind that some titles include promotional trailers that appear before the start of what you are going to see and that these can be skipped, but not deleted, even with the ad-free Prime Video mode.
From a Smart TV
If you prefer to modify this from your TV, it doesn't hurt much either:
- Access the Prime Video app on your user platform.
- Go with the controller cursor to the options column on the left.
- Select “Remove Ads” - the second one from the bottom.
- Go to the “No ads” box (in blue) and select the “Continue without ads” button
- You will be informed that from now on you will be able to watch content without advertising in exchange for 1,99 euros/month.
- If you agree, select the “Subscribe for a fee” button.
Again, the new plan will affect all the profiles associated with your account, so that none of them encounter ads again when playing the platform's content.
