The A80K line is a notch lower down the line premium, but without giving up almost nothing. In 77, 65 and 55 inch sizes, the screen technology is also OLED. We leave the A range and, for its Z9K and X95K models (evolutions of the previous models, the Z9J and X95J) we have Mini LED technology, where the diodes are reduced in size compared to traditional LEDs. In fact, they are up to 40 times smaller.
What does this reduction in size allow with the new technology?
Well, according to Sony, a Full Array Local Dimming (not to confuse with the direct full array from Samsung), which translates into a enhancement of brightness, contrast and blacks. Basically, this technology makes use of pixel size to improve contrast without the need for OLED technology, which is much more expensive. The improvements at the software level in the Sony 2022
