The Xbox gaming service has won over many users worldwide; however, recent decisions regarding the service may not have pleased everyone. Stop paying for Xbox Game Pass
If you signed up for Xbox Game Pass through your console, it's very likely that the service is set to automatic renewal by default. This allows Microsoft to collect the payment each month, and often, because a credit card is already set up, many users forget that a scheduled payment is due (especially when they subscribe to a full year of the service and the renewal date arrives).
In Microsoft's favor, we must say that the service sends an email notifying you that the renewal fee will be charged in the next few days, however, you may not see this email or you may miss it. To find out when you will be charged for the following month, you only have to go to your user panel, since it is the same place where you can cancel the service.
How to unsubscribe from the service
To cancel the Xbox Game Pass service, simply go to your Microsoft profile and manage your active subscriptions. You will need to do the following:
- Open the browser and visit www.xbox.com
- Sign in with your Microsoft account
- Click on your profile avatar to display the menu
- Click on the three dots to show More options
- Choose Subscriptions
This will take you to your official Microsoft account dashboard, where you can view your active Xbox Game Pass subscription and its expiration date, as well as the option to cancel recurring billing , which is the option that will charge you monthly.
Simply click on “cancel recurring billing” to access a new panel where you can confirm the cancellation of your service. From now on, Microsoft will no longer charge you for Xbox Game Pass, and the service will remain active until your next billing date. In other words, if you had already paid for a month, even after canceling, you will still have Game Pass until the end of that period.
