Activision has finally released all the details for the second season of Cold War and Warzone , and as many suspected, zombies will play a very important role in this second phase of the game. If you want to know everything that awaits you in Season 2, you'd better sit back and take a deep breath, because there are tons of new features coming on February 24th.
Nobody knows where Adler is
A group of soldiers led by Frank Woods has arrived in the Laotian jungle to try and find Russell Adler, who has been kidnapped by Stitch and his men. This expedition has led the group to a Nova 6 gas smuggling route , where they have encountered Kapano Vang, also known as Naga, an ally of Stitch who will make things difficult for the rescue team.
Meanwhile, Adler remains unaccounted for, so the story will keep us on our toes until we find the leader.
This is the plot that will keep us hooked on this new season of Cold War, a story that will bring new operators, new maps and more weapons, and all of that is what we are going to break down below.
Operators
- Naga: His official name is Kapano Vang, but everyone knows him as Naga. He is a well-known drug and arms dealer who dominated the famous Golden Triangle area. He has no qualms when it comes to headshots, and he doesn't hesitate to take down anyone who tries to get in his smuggling routes.
- Maxis: An old acquaintance from zombie mode. Samantha Maxis is a member of the Requiem group who was rescued from the Omega Group at Base Z. She will be available in both Warzone and multiplayer modes as part of the NATO team.
- Wolf: One of the great protagonists of the Adler rescue group. He is an elite sniper for Delta Force, and is also an expert in heavy weapons.
- Rivas: Another operator who, together with Woods, goes in search of Adler. She was born in Nicaragua, and has fought all the way up against cartels and drug trafficking.
Both Maxis, Wolf, and Rivas will be available in Cold War and Warzone through individual store bundles during Season 2.
New weapons
- DANGER 83: An automatic assault rifle with one of the highest rates of fire in its class. It can be obtained for free by reaching level 15 of the Season 2 Battle Pass.
- LC10: Perfect automatic submachine gun for intermediate distances. Being compact, it is extremely agile to wield, and although its damage per shot is not particularly impressive, its high rate of fire and low recoil make it a very worthwhile option. This weapon can be obtained for free at level 31 of the Season 2 battle pass.
- Machete: A quite resistant personal weapon that scares with its tempered steel blade 30 centimeters long.
- Multitool: This melee weapon is a folding military-grade shovel that is typically used to dig out defensive positions. In this case, we will use it to hit at times when we do not have any available cartridges left. Don't underestimate her, she can be tremendously effective at very short ranges.
- R1 Shadowhunter: A light and simple crossbow that will allow you to eliminate enemies in a very silent way. Additional sights can be attached to it, although if you prefer, you can also shoot from the hip.
- ZRG 20mm: Sniper lovers are in luck, since this precision rifle with a bolt-action mechanism is capable of beating enemies at extremely long distances, being able to kill them with a single shot to the head, chest or shoulder. Its rate of fire is slow, but its reload speed is one of the best in its class.
The outbreak of the zombies arrives
If there's one thing that had been discussed beforehand, it was the arrival of zombies on a massive scale. Well, Outbreak is a new game mode in which players will have to immerse themselves in a large map (in the Ural Mountains) in search of dark ether.
Teams of four players must complete investigations, such as hunting down elite enemies, escorting a Rover that detects dimensional portals, or clearing areas infested with zombies, in order to start the extraction process or, as always, enter a new one. dimension that will bring more rewards.
This new adventure follows the dark ether story of the previous season, with the novelty of taking place on an incredibly large map.
New multiplayer maps
As it could not be otherwise, the season also launches four new multiplayer maps with which to multiply the fun of online confrontations. These are the new additions:
Apocalypse
It is a 6 vs 6 map based on the headquarters of a cartel in the jungle of Laos, in the middle of the Golden Triangle. Supposedly the forces of Perseus are hiding key information, so an elite team from the CIA will have to get the information.
Head
A small Russian town near the Ural plains that is actually a testing ground for the numbers program. Many houses, a large church and an industrial estate await you on this map.
Mansion
This small map will be the place of confrontation of teams of 2 or 3 members depending on the mode. It is the same mansion in Cuba that we were able to visit in the "End of the Journey" mission of the Cold War campaign.
miami strike
The map of Miami comes to show the light of day before the colorful morals of the neighborhood of South Beach. A 6 vs 6 map that will bring a lot of action from one side of the map to the other.
What about Warzone?
But if there is something that many users are waiting for, it is to know what exactly happens with Warzone and its history. According to the official information shared by Activision and the final seconds of the trailer, a tanker named Vodianoy, which until now had been reported missing, is getting dangerously close to the Verdansk coast. The problem is that no one knows what exactly is inside, so the only thing they recommend is that special care be taken when approaching the ship.
Will it be full of zombies? At the moment what is related to this ship is a mystery, but there is no doubt that it will have something to do with the development and evolution of the battle royale.
On the other hand, it seems that something is happening in the underground of Verdansk. The footage from the trailer shows a dense and large smoke screen over the city, so it is possible that some kind of nuclear bomb has been detonated or will be detonated on the ground. And it is that, while rumors suggest that the city could disappear for this reason, the images of the trailer seem to show some type of missile silo in one of the areas of the great monuments. Will there be some kind of clue that will help us decipher the enigma?
