The Microsoft console is a marvel in terms of performance and specifications, but like any electronic device, it is not exempt from possible problems that may arise in the future. Xbox won't turn on: Power supply?
If your console doesn't turn on when you plug in the power cable, the power supply is most likely faulty. A power supply failure can be a simple fix if it only requires replacing the unit itself, but it can become a nightmare if it has affected the console's motherboard.
If the problem is simply with the power supply, the good news is that you can buy one on AliExpress for around €45 and replace it yourself if you're able to open the console. However, remember that doing so yourself will void the console's warranty and you won't be eligible for technical support from Microsoft.
Xbox does not update with constant reboots
Another problem you might encounter is that an update has downloaded, but for some reason the installation process doesn't finish, causing the console to restart repeatedly until it finally shuts down. This could be caused by an unexpected power outage during the installation process, so you'll need to reset the console.
The solution is to turn off the console completely by unplugging it, wait 30 seconds and turn it on again with the following combination:
- Remote sync button + Disc eject + Power button
This will cause the console to start in recovery mode, being able to reset the console to factory settings but without deleting the installed applications and games. All you would have to do is log in again and configure the audio and video parameters, as long as you do not restore a backup of the settings.
The console returns an error when turning it on
These problems can appear due to an error in the system files that leave corrupted boot files. In that case, the solution would be to perform a system restore as we have already mentioned in the previous step.
The console cannot be restored
If the console doesn't come back to life after restoring it, and you also can't manually install an update by downloading the file from the Microsoft website and saving it to an NTFS-formatted USB drive, your only remaining option is to contact the manufacturer's technical support for assistance. Most likely, you'll have to send the console to a service center for them to fix the problem.
