Where to find the 107 Soul Scrolls in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

The 22nd quest in Pokémon Legends : Arceus is undoubtedly more laborious than completing the Pokédex itself for Professor Lavender. The quest is given to us by Alma , a resident of Jubilife Village who is preoccupied with collecting every single scroll. If you're lost, wandering aimlessly through the lands of Hisui and are having trouble finding a particular scroll, here are a few clues to the location of each and every one of them.

Introduction to Order Nº22

Alma, a resident of Jubilee Village , asks for our help in collecting the 107 violet scrolls . She's extremely worried and tells us that if we don't complete this mission, something terrible will happen in the Hisui region. Even her family doesn't take her vision seriously, claiming they can't see the luminous scrolls. After she finishes explaining, Alma gives us the Spirit Stone . Inside this key item, we can store all the scrolls we find throughout the Hisui region.

The mechanics of this game are exactly the same as collecting Zygarde Cells in the Zygarde Ark during the adventure in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. We'll only know the total number of cells we need to find, but we won't have any clues about their location . Upon obtaining one, the game will simply tell us the total number of scrolls remaining to be discovered on that map.

Before saying goodbye, Alma advises you to look for the wisps at night. It's true that these luminous sparks will remain in their position on the map throughout the day and will never move. However, they are somewhat easier to locate at night because they shine quite brightly, and you'll be able to see them from a greater distance.

As you collect scrolls, you can visit Alma so she can track your progress. Every time you collect ten, the villager will reward you with various items.

Tips for Locating Soul Scrolls

Before telling you where the 107 scrolls in the game are, it's helpful to have some tips on how to locate most of them on your own , and only refer to this guide for those that are giving you trouble.

  1. Do not take this mission as a priority: play your game and track the progress as normal. If you see a scroll, go over there and get it. If you don't see them, don't worry. You will have time to complete this mission later.
  2. Don't get hung up on missing a particular scroll: some scrolls are visible, but you can waste minutes of your game trying to reach them. Some of the sparks you see you won't be able to reach them until come back and you can climb rocks, sail seas or fly.
  3. Do not start actively looking for the scrolls until you have unlocked all PokéMounts. Even if you know the location of all of them, you won't be able to access some of them without the help of Sneasler, Basculegion, or Braviary.
  4. look for the scrolls exclusively at night: once you have access to the mounts, do fast sweeps by the maps mounted on wyrdeer. At dawn, fast travel to the base of the camp and sleep until the next day to resume the search.

Where are the wisps of light?

These are the locations of the scrolls hidden in Hisui:

Jubilee Villa

There are a total of 7 scrolls hidden throughout the streets of Villa Jubileo. They are located here:

Obsidian Meadow

There are 20 scrolls hidden in the first area of the game. They are relatively easy to find, but you will need to climb rocks and you will see them more easily while flying.

Crimson Swamp

In this other area are the next 20 scrolls. They are all on the ground, but you will need to use several mounts to make the job easier.

Crimson Scrolls Pantanal

Cobalt Coast

The 20 Cobalt Coast scrolls are really well spread across the huge map . You'll need to use Basculegion for several of them that are directly in the sea . A few will require Sneasler's climbing abilities.

Hillside Crown

Sneasler and his rider 's backpack are going to have their work cut out for them to find the 20 scrolls hidden on the mountainous map of Crown Slope . You'll also have to venture into several caves to locate some of them. It might seem like the toughest map, but that title belongs to Dawn Tundra.

Bundle up and keep Braviary handy , because traversing the snowy terrain of the game's final map isn't easy . Furthermore, the white snow doesn't contrast well with the light from the wisps, making the 20 hidden wisps in this area incredibly difficult to find. Once you have all 20, go to Alma to complete the quest. And... if you happen to not feel up to completing this quest , don't worry. If the folks at Game Freak made it so challenging , there must be a reason.

Is it necessary to complete this mission to pass the game?

If you've played other open-world games, you may have already encountered a similar mechanic to this one involving the swirls. In games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , there's a similar quest that can take many hours to complete and has little impact on the main storyline . Therefore, you might be wondering whether this quest is relevant to the game's plot.

If you want a quick, spoiler- free explanation , then yes. If you want to complete the game— that is, if you want to fulfill the main objective, which is to fill every page of the Pokémon Encyclopedia—then you should know that you'll have to collect the tedious Alma Scrolls . You'll be able to see the game's credits for the first time without completing this quest, but you won't be able to meet Arceus without completing the boring Quest #22. If you need the explanation, we'll explain why in the section below. We've left this paragraph uncommented so as not to spoil the surprise.

(Spoiler Alert) What mystery lies behind the wisps of light?

107 final scrolls pokemon arceus

If you spent many hours playing Pokémon Diamond and Pearl , either in their original versions or in the remakes that came out recently, you may have imagined what mystery lay behind the swirls because of their color and the name of the aforementioned NPC who orders you to the mission.

Once you have collected all the scrolls in your Spirit Stone, you will need to go with Alma to the Crimson Marsh and enter the Mist Ruins . There, one more scroll will appear, bringing the total to 108.

Alma will ask you to close your eyes and then disappear . A voice will then tell you that the whole operation was a misdeed—I mean, even Game Freak is laughing at you for the awful mission they gave you. The mission will automatically end, and you'll receive three Double Pickles as a reward.

Unfortunately, your character will freeze, but won't have their mouth wide open like the game's characters usually do. Once this happens, a Spiritomb will appear behind you, and Spiritomb Pokémon will start spawning in the area. What a mess you've made, kid.
