As with other superheroes, the Batman has been one of the most mythical in all of history. So, as you can imagine, we have seen him starring in comics, movies, series and, of course, games for different consoles. And just about the latter is what we are here to talk to you about today. Batman
- First game based on Batman in its history, programmed for 8-bit machines.
- It was an isometric perspective game, the view that was given at that time to simulate 3D.
- It was released in 1986 for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, and Amstrad PCW platforms.
Batman: The Caped Crusaders
- Action video game released in 1988 for the ZX Spectrum, DOS, Amstrad CPC, and Commodore 64 platforms.
- The gameplay was similar to those of Arcade fights adding details such as the panels to simulate the comics.
- In this game, Batman faced his two quintessential enemies: the Penguin and the Joker.
Batman: Return of the Joker
- A title released for the NES, Game Boy, Mega Drive and SNES platforms in 1991.
- Later an attempt was made to develop for other consoles but it did not come to fruition.
- Lateral scrolling game in which we will have to kill all the enemies that appear to us. All this thanks to the tools of the bat man.
Batman: The Animated Series
- Video game based on the same series that bears this name. Both were released at the same time in the year 1993.
- Developed exclusively for the Game Boy.
- Action title, adventures and platforms in which, after reaching the end of each stage, we will have to defeat a boss. These are the main villains related to the bat man.
Batman & Robin
- First title developed for the PlayStation platform. Released in the year 1998.
- A 3D game with sandbox elements, traffic simulation and people walking around the city.
- We could choose between Batman, Robin and Batgirl to start the game. Each with their own vehicle and exclusive movements.
The most 'current' side of the Batman games
It could be said that the era of the 2000s marked a before and after in terms of graphics in the video game sector. It is true that this last title published before the turn of the millennium already offered a better appearance, but in order to be able to differentiate a bit between the classic and modern face, from here we will see the most "current" Batman games.
Batman: Dark Tomorrow
- Title developed by Warner Bros Interactive for Xbox and GameCube in 2003. The version for PlayStation 2 wanted to be developed but, finally, this option was discarded.
- Fighting game through multiple levels with different dark settings ranging from the Batcave to the underworld of Gotham City.
Batman Begins
- Released in 2005 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Game Boy Advance.
- Based on the same movie from which it takes its name.
- He had a very distinctive play style where we used the environment around us to intimidate and cripple our opponents. The tools that Batman used, among others, were: smoke grenades, flash grenades and an "HP Transponder", which summoned bats that surrounded the enemy.
Lego Batman: The Video Game
- First Batman game released in collaboration with LEGO.
- Developed for the Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, PC and Mac OS X platforms.
- Third-person game in which we will have to fight enemies using Batman's attacks or tools, as well as using LEGO pieces to help us.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
The game of Batman: Arkham Asylum It was released in 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It was based on the Mythos saga where The Joker wanted to eliminate Batman's greatest enemies locked up in Arkham Asylum. Furthermore, he intends to use a toxin called "Titan" to create an army of monsters with which to destroy Gotham.
It was one of the most acclaimed video games by the public and critics thanks to its setting, plot, and gameplay. Many even called it "the best game they had played so far."
Batman: Arkham Origins
The third installment of the Arkham saga was called Batman: Arkham Origins. This title arrived in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U platforms.
The main story of the game takes place years before that of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Here we see a much younger Batman whose head has been put on a price by the crime lord Black Mask. This will draw the attention of 8 of the world's deadliest assassins who will go straight for him.
A third-person combat and adventure game that, like others before it, is based on stealth, incapacitating enemies, and throwing a few punches (or using your weapons) when necessary.
Batman: Arkham Knight
Continuing with the same saga, in 2015 it saw the light Batman: Arkham Knight. Game developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC consoles.
Here the main plot takes place a year after the previous one. Batman, in the best moment of his abilities, will have to fight against the Scarecrow, an enemy that has caused the evacuation of the entire population of Gotham. This villain has managed to gather the rest of the main enemies of the bat man to put an end to his life... Do you think he will be able to carry out his plan?

In this section we wanted to collect all the Batman games that come from the hand of Telltale Games. This company developed each of them as graphic adventures published as episodes. Among them we can find two different sagas: The Telltale Series (with 5 episodes) and The Enemy Within (with 5 other episodes).
This company wanted to get a little more out of the character himself or, rather, his B-side: the privileges of being Bruce Wayne.
